WWE: When does The Undertaker return?

As WrestleMania season inches ever closer, rumours always circulate around The Undertaker and when he will comeback. For the last couple of years, he has been restricted to appearing for the run-in to WrestleMania and brief gust appearances for special events like Raw 1000. I hope this is the year he is featured a little bit more. The Undertaker only showing up for WrestleMania is an irritating tease as it shows just how much WWE miss him the rest of the year.

For me, the obvious way to bring back The Undertaker is part of the on-going Wyatt Family storyline. Bray Wyatt proclaims to be controlled by the Devil and it would make perfect sense if The Undertaker was indeed the higher power orchestrating everything. The move would not only integrate the deadman into WWE's most interesting storyline but also be a massive boost to The Wyatt Family who desperately need to be made to look as legitimate as possible. This role could also work well for The Undertaker because he wouldn't have to get physical a great deal, just talk and put over some of the younger guys.

The obvious restrictions to The Undertaker coming back for something more than WrestleMania all revolve around his health. Though he is seen to be in better shape than he has been in the past couple of years, The Undertaker is still pretty banged up. The only reason he failed to compete at Summerslam was injury. I think everybody has something to gain by bringing back The Undertaker a little earlier than usual. WWE would get a boost in the ratings and in PPV buys, The Undertaker gets longer to build his big match at WrestleMania, the fans get to see more of The Undertaker than they have in years and there is also the perfect opportunity to get a couple of the younger guys over through being involved with the future Hall of Famer.

Honestly, I would be ecstatic if Undertaker decided to come back around New Year and work for a couple of months. WWE has teased his return recently like they always do, but hopefully he really does return, inject the currently stale product with a bit of edge and help get over some of the prospects. Everybody can benefit from The Undertaker being involved in a big angle before we get to his WrestleMania match and here's me hoping that he shows his face soon, because WWE needs something interesting to happen soon or else their audience numbers are going to continue to shrink.
