The Apprentice 2014: Lindsay Booth Admits She Was Right To Be Fired And Was Out Of Her Depth - EXCLUSIVE

The swimming instructor was RELIEVED to be given the boot...

She was given the boot before she'd even had the chance to defend herself to Lord Sugar in the boardroom on Wednesday night's Apprentice.

But fired candidate Lindsay Booth has now admitted that she would have walked if she hadn't been pushed and was completely 'out of her depth' on the show.

Speaking exclusively to Yahoo, she said: "I feel relieved, I think it was the right thing to do.

"I was never going to stay and fight for my place. At that point I really knew that I was out of my depth and I realised that The Apprentice is not the place for me.

"I knew that it was time for me to go and I think that Lord Sugar knew as well. If he hadn’t have fired me, I would have resigned."

The 29-year-old swimming instructor, who was accused of 'treading water' over the last few weeks, revealed that she was actually HOPING to be fired.

She told us: "Actually when you’re in there it’s just totally different, a totally different environment than you can ever imagine.

"I just didn’t have the confidence to sell and to pitch but everybody else did, everybody else just seemed so much more confident than me.

"In my everyday life I’m confident and I’m confident running my business but in that process you’ve got to be more than that. You’ve got to be so much more arrogant and confident and I just don’t have that."

Lindsay was the first candidate to be fired on Wednesday night's episode after her team lost the home fragrance task, before PM Roisin even had the chance to bring anyone back into the boardroom.

But Roisin and James managed to avoid the chop, with Nuran being the second person to be fired.

Lindsay told us: "I think Roisin and James were the ones who were to blame. But unfortunately, in my eyes, Nuran was a weaker candidate.

"She wasn’t to blame for the failure of the task but she was weaker and sometimes that’s the way it goes in the boardroom. Lord Sugar thought that he could see more in Roisin and James going forward. I’m not saying it’s fair but it’s Lord Sugar’s decision."

While The Apprentice might be about creating new business empires, it seems that being on the show prompted Lindsay to down-size her swimming business.

She told us: "What I’ve learnt since The Apprentice is that I work too much and became too obsessed with business, you can get obsessed with the buzz that being successful gives you.

"For the first time in a few years I have more of a life. I’ve made my business smaller and I enjoy my life."

Hmm - we wonder what Lord Sugar would make of this?!
