Soaps preview - 6 - 10 February

Coronation Street
To paraphrase the bumper sticker: “If the van’s a rocking, luck don’t come knocking”.  Following their nookie/handbrake slippage and van crash, Jason and Rosie are not happy. After an article in the paper about “Randy Road Safety Model Rosie” Owen finds out the crash was Jason’s fault and sacks him. Jason doesn’t get much sympathy from Rosie either because she loses her job as the road safety model because of it.

However, you can’t keep a good model down. Rosie gets a call from her agent saying that because of the story in the paper, she’s got a casting for a new reality show in London. Delighted, Rosie heads off to the audition. And then she’s over the moon to hear she has got the part. There’s only one problem  - she doesn’t want Jason to go with her.

She successfully pleads with Owen to get him his job back so he won’t come to London with her. But when Owen asks Jason to come back to work, Jason refuses, claiming he's moving to London with Rosie. He’s amazed when Owen reveals it was Rosie who talked him into changing his mind.

He confronts Rosie who finally breaks down and tells him the truth – she doesn’t want him with her when she heads off to the bright lights and big city. He’s heartbroken and furious. But later on when she’s saying good bye to her family he crosses the street for a final moment. Can they be reconciled?
Either way, it’s farewell to Rosie. For a dim girl, your light burnt brightly. We will miss you. And your cleavage.

EastEnders
After months of fighting, Jack and Roxy call a temporary truce ahead of the court case for custody of Amy.  At the start of the week they share a drink. Then one thing leads to another (a bit unlikely, no?) and they’re soon sharing bodily fluids.

But the Brannings are at war with the Mitchells and things get heated again after Michael spots the pair chatting merrily the next day. He tells Roxy she’s played right into Jack’s hands. He also tells her that Jack has secretly applied for a passport for Amy – and forged her signature on it.

Later, in court, the two families take sides for a heavyweight contest. Roxy’s lawyer tears Jack apart on the stand and he vows to tell all about Roxy’s, ahem, chequered past. But he’s forced to reconsider when Roxy drops her bombshell. She knows he’s forged her signature and if he speaks up, she’ll make sure he’s found guilty of fraud.

How will Jack react? Will he throw in the towel or fight on for Amy?

Also this week:  Lucy accidentally throws coffee over Mandy’s wedding dress during a fitting.

Emmerdale
Oh, poor Chas. We warned her last week. Don’t get involved with John Barton. It won’t end nicely. But when we start the week, it looks like things are going just fine. He tells Moira he wants a divorce, which proves to Chas she’s doing the right thing.

They go on to snog and arrange a date – some time together in the farm. Chas is desperate for it to work – and even the fact that Moira knows what’s going to happen doesn’t put her off. She heads off to meet John and leads him by the hand upstairs.

But just at the crucial moment, John realises he can’t go through with it – he’s still got feelings for Moira (We TOLD you, Chas).  So Chas returns to the Woolpack where she’s greeted by a slap in the face from Moira, who’s upset at the tryst. Being a nice girl, Chas explains that nothing happened because John’s still in love with her.

And then later, Moira goes to John to tell him she still loves him. Will he get over his pride? Can he? And will Chas ever be happy?
