Coronation Street
It’s been bubbling away like a foul-smelling stew for a few weeks now – and finally the Platt family feud boils over. Nick finally twigs that David might be the man with the vendetta against him. Considering that there was a lot of behaviour that could only be undertaken by a psycho it’s taken a while for Sherlock Platt to figure out his formerly psycho half-brother might be responsible for it but we will have to let him off.

With the lightbulb above his head flickering, Nick corners Tina. She spills that David knows what went on between him and Kylie on Christmas night – and that he might be desperate for revenge.  Of course, Nick’s best course of action would be to quietly front up to David in a calm, safe space. So that’s what he does. Oh no it isn't. He decides instead to drive off alone in the dark with his rage-filled sibling and fess up to the one-night stand while they are speeding along.

David responds rationally, accepting his brother’s story and deciding they must work together to get beyond this. Oh no he doesn't. He undoes Nick’s seatbelt, grabs the van wheel and steers them into the path of an oncoming lorry.

[Daybreak to be revamped again?]

Following the big-budget crash, Nick lies bleeding. And suddenly David’s desire for revenge has disappeared and all he can worry about is that his brother is actually going to die. He calls an ambulance.

But even though he’s alive when they get him to hospital, Nick has to have brain surgery which leaves him in a coma. Overcome with sorrow at what he’s done, David waits praying at his bedside, apologising for his actions. Let’s just hope that no one overhears, eh?

Also this week: Tina returns from her holiday with Tommy and she can’t help asking Gary and Izzy how baby Jake is –and even pops round for a visit. Don’t do it to yourself, Tina. Don’t do it.

EastEnders
Max is back on the block – and that can mean only one thing: Kirsty is preparing herself to sleep with him.  Mind you, the first person Max meets on his return to Walford is Carl, who wastes no time telling him that he’s after Kirsty himself.

Kirsty is not interested in Carl though, she heads straight to Max and tells him that she wants him and only him. But obviously it is not going to be that easy for her to get back with her hubby.  Max can’t trust her after that whole fake pregnancy thing.

Knowing that the way to Max’s heart is through his groin, Kirsty gives him an ultimatum – come to her flat after work or it’s over for good.

[Jean Slater to quit EastEnders]

Unfortunately, Carl picks up on the plan and has Warren delay Max at the car lot pretending to be an indecisive client wanting a car, while Carl himself heads to Kirsty’s. By the time Max arrives, he sees Carl enter the flat and assumes Carl has been chosen to, erm,  enter Kirsty’s inner sanctum.

The next day, the truth comes out – Carl went home after a chat about his mum. Kirsty and Max realise they’ve been manipulated and Kirsty tells Carl she’s not a doll they can fight over.  She also gives Max an earful about not trusting her – to which he doesn’t respond “HELLO! FAKE BABY”. Instead the pair end up snogging. One thing leads to another  and before you know it, the inevitable happens. That’s right, Lauren walks in on them.

Also this week:  A new sexy hairdresser, Sadie Young, enters the square and sets up a salon which is a big hit straight away.

Emmerdale
Ever since her car-jacking Laurel has been stumbling around in a state of paranoia. Things get worse and worse, as she jumps at every noise and refuses to leave the house for dinner with Marlon.  And then when she does leave the house, she thinks she has seen one of her attackers and the police promptly arrest an innocent man.

Seeing how distressed she is and how all Marlon can do is mock her,  Dan attempts to help her by giving the names of three garages who Cain worked with on the day of her attack. Phoning one up, Laurel recognises the voice of one of her tormentors.

Playing Michael Bronson in ‘Death Wish’, Laurel takes it upon herself to trail her attacker, who she discovers is called Ross.  She walks past him in the street – their eyes meet but he doesn’t recognise her. That’s what really pushes her over the edge. Grabbing a pair of scissors, she tails him into his house and prepares to “hurt him like he hurt her”.

Is she going to do something (even more) stupid? Will Ross overpower her? Can Marlon save her this time?

Also this week: Amy is stunned to hear that Kyle’s adoptive parents are dead.  She decides to track him down at the funeral.
