Sir Bruce Forsyth to take break from Strictly Come Dancing - Daily TV round-up

Claudia Winkleman will replace the show host the week before the Wembley special.

Sir Bruce Forsyth is set to take a break from ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ early next month.

The evergreen 84-year-old will take a week’s holiday ahead of the show’s annual Wembley Arena jaunt.

Claudia Winkleman will join Forsyth’s regular co-host Tess Daly on the 10 November show.

It’s the first time in ten series Forsyth will miss the show by his own choice – three years ago he was advised to skip an episode by doctors after he came down with flu. It’s thought the week-long holiday was agreed ahead of this series.

A BBC source said: “When someone is 84 we are not going to begrudge them a week off.”

A show spokesman added: “Even national treasures are allowed a week off. Sir Bruce is taking a short break so he can be on top form and fighting fit for the Children in Need show at Wembley the following week.”
