Red Or Black? to return with changes to format – Daily TV round-up

Simon Cowell's gameshow 'Red Or Black?' is to ditch its live format when it returns, after the first series was marred by controversial contestants.

The show will instead be pre-recorded, after it emerged that one of the show's £1 million winners, Nathan Hageman, had a conviction for beating a woman.

Two other contestants were also kicked off the show after background checks.

The show's giant roulette wheel has also had to go, after the Gambling Commission deemed that its use glamourised gambling.

Instead, there will now be a new game called The Vortex, where contestants will have to guess how long a ball will take to drop into a 'mini velodrome'.

The show will offer prizes of £500,000 per show, with the potential for a £3.5 million rollover. [The Sun]
