Morey: Hard saying bye to Morgan

Neighbours star Eve Morey has confessed she feels a real maternal love for her on-screen children. The soap actress - who plays Toadie's wife Sonya Rebecchi - admitted it was very hard saying goodbye to Morgan Baker, who plays Sonya's son Callum Jones. Morgan is set to leave the show this summer after nearly seven years on the show. Eve said: "It's been pretty difficult. I have a weird love for my fake children! You tend to love them like children [Sonya also has a baby daughter, Nell]. "So him going is bittersweet. Because you're so proud of him and the choices he's making as he starts to get older and it's been such a privilege watching him get to that point. "But it's sad - it's the end of an era. We won't get to see him every day and we'll probably never get to work with him again. Hopefully we'll try and get him to come back as a guest. "It's been a sad time but he's such a wonderful kid and he's got his head on his shoulders, so it's good too." Sonya and Toadie's marriage is set to hit the rocks as Sonya battles her gambling addiction and newcomer Naomi Canning makes a move on Toadie. But Eve revealed his parents problems won't affect Callum too much now he has relationship issues of his own with girlfriend Josie Lamb. Eve said: "He's pretty sheltered from some of this stuff, because he's a teenager now, and he's got his own storyline, while we're fighting at home he's off with his girlfriend! "So he's not feeling it emotionally as much as some other storylines affecting all three of us have in the past. "But his leaving definitely is another contributor to Toadie and Sonya breaking down a bit more. It puts more stress on the relationship and both Toadie and Sonya have different views about why he leaves. "It was so devastating seeing Morgan go and you go through all that stuff and then it's unrelenting because there's more angst afterwards."
