Matt LeBlanc: More Friends a bad idea

Matt LeBlanc claims that a ‘Friends’ movie/reunion is ‘not realistic’

Former ‘Friends’ star Matt LeBlanc is dead against a ‘Friends’ reunion, whether it’s a special TV show or a film.

The actor, best known for playing Joey Tribbiani in the series, told Digital Spy there were no plans to get the cast back together and suggested that he didn’t like the idea of a reunion.

He said: "Yeah, that probably won't happen. There's no plans for anything like that. Everyone seems to be talking about that these days, but nope, no irons in the fire there."

He said it wouldn’t be realistic for the characters to still be in touch after all these years.

“I think that show was all about a finite amount of time in six people's lives. They were out of college, but they hadn't settled down with their lives yet.  Once they have moved on from that phase, that family unit has broken down a little bit. I'm sure they'd keep in touch a bit, but it wouldn't be the same."

When quizzed about the rumoured ‘Friends’ film, LeBlanc dismissed the idea.

He said: "I think it’s a bit of a case of 'the book is better than the movie'. Do you know what I mean?

"Everyone identifies with those characters in their own way and everyone in their own mind imagines what has become of those characters. I just think it's best to leave it at that."

The ‘Friends’ cast was reportedly paid a whopping $1 million each per episode in the final series.
