Margaret Mountford has said that she was 'fired' from the interviews episode of this year's series of 'The Apprentice'. Fans expecting to see Lord Sugar's former sidekick grilling this year's hopefuls last night were instead treated to Ricky Martin, the former wrestler who won the eighth series of the show.

"They didn't ask me back. I suppose I was fired!" she told whatsontv.co.uk.

"No, obviously they weren't going to want me to carry on doing interviews forever, and nor did I want to do them forever."

Margaret has appeared on the interview stage of the selection process every year since she quit the series in 2009. She was then replaced by businesswoman Karren Brady as Lord Sugar's eyes and ears, along with 'Countdown's Nick Hewer. Last night saw three candidates fired from the process.

Pub quiz entrepreneur Daniel Lassman and accountant Roisin Hogan were both shown the door by Lord Sugar. But it was 22-year-old Solomon Akhtar who left the process in spectacular fashion.

The young tech entrepreneur was savaged by Sugar's long-time associate Claude Littner, who slammed his flimsy business plan and sent him packing during their brief interview.

Remaining contestants Bianca Miller and Mark Wright will fight it out next week for investment of £250,000 from Lord Sugar. [What's On TV]

Larry David has said that there's likely never to be any more episodes of his long-running comedy series 'Curb Your Enthusiasm'. “I guess right now, the odds would be against it,” he said. “Probably 6 to 1. I got so much grief from the Seinfeld finale, which a lot of people intensely disliked, that I no longer feel a need to wrap things up. I wouldn’t say I’m mad about [the reaction], but it taught me a lesson that if I ever did another show, I wasn’t going to wrap it up.” [Grantland]

Kiefer Sutherland has said that he won't be reprising the role of Jack Bauer again. “Me, I don’t see going back to it,” he said. “We had set out to do 12 episodes to end the show and deal with some of the past history of the show. It was also an irresistible opportunity to go shoot in England. So for all of those reasons it made sense to do that last season.” [Daily Telegraph]

Jim Davidson has revealed that he was 'depressed' while he was in the 'Celebrity Big Brother' house. The comedian won the 13th series of the show, but said: “I didn't think I would win especially when the arguments with Linda were kicking off and I got really depressed. I did think, 'What am I doing here with all these bloody people?' If it wasn't for Dappy I would've climbed over the wall. I loved him Dappy, great guy.” [Bang Showbiz]
