Mad Men: Vincent Kartheiser reveals secret of Pete Campbell’s receding hairline

The snivelling account executive’s balding pate is a simple showbiz trick.

Vincent Karthesier, the American actor who plays Pete Campbell in Sky Atlantic’s ‘Mad Men’, revealed his bizarre hairline at the show’s Season 7 premiere in Los Angeles.

A large portion of the front of his hairline is starting to re-grow after being shaved back for the filming of the 1960s-set TV series.

His character, the snivelling account executive who regularly clashes with Jon Hamm’s Donald Draper, sports a receding hairline in the show, with more of his forehead being revealed in each new season.

However, the 34-year-old actor doesn’t suffer with male pattern baldness like his character, which means the show’s producers have to physically shave it back for the cameras.

Kartheiser has played Campbell in every season of the show since it began in 2007, with his ambitious character often causing much of the tension at the advertising firm headed up by Don Draper.

Photos released from the new series show the psychedelic swinging sixties have finally caught up with the characters.

‘Mad Men’ Season 7 begins on Sky Atlantic this month.
