Community Season Five spoilers: More on the 'Ass-Crack-Bandit', could it be Pierce Hawthorne?

The main villain of Community Season Five has struck fear into the hearts of everyone, but here's some more info.

If you've seen the first live-action full length trailer for Community's fifth season you'll know about the 'Ass-Crack-Bandit'. The villain rising from the ashes of a trailer that has Ken Jeong's character loudly declaring a personal secret.

From the trailer called 'Beyond the Darkest Timeline' it really looks like the mysterious hooded figure will be the main antagonist of the series, at least for a while. The bandit will be on a crime-spree throughout the early episodes of Community's comeback season putting quarters into Donald Glover's butt's mouth.

But what do we know about the Crack-Bandit? Well in episode three, titled 'Basic Gluteal Numismatics' the synopsis has been revealed and we know a little bit more about how central the villain will be in Community's storylines.

"Everyone is up in arms when an anonymous bandit starts dropping coins down people's pants. While Dean Pelton (Jim Rash) mobilizes the school to investigate, Jeff (Joel McHale) and Annie (Alison Brie) pursue their own theories - methodically interrogating staff members. When someone eventually confesses, the school heaves a sigh of relief, but Jeff thinks there is more to the story than meets the eye."

As is always the case with Community there's always more than meets the eye. But what does this mean for Donald Glover and the other victims, what does it mean for Jeff, who's now a teacher at Greendale, and for the bandit themselves? Why are they be-coining people's rears? Will Donald being victimised result in his departure?

It's clear that Harmon has been itching to get back to 'Community' with the 'Ass-Crack-Bandit' getting a mention way back in Season Two with Annie suggesting that they'll be brought to justice. It's little call-backs like this that make Harmon a master of this show, and it's such an obscure reference that many people aren't even aware that this trailer isn't the first time the bandit has surfaced in Community.

Lastly let's take a look at some of the theories surrounding who the Bandit is. First of all it could be Ken Jeong's Ben Chang up to no good yet again. It could be Pelton's attempts to get into Jeff's pants, City College's attempts to undermine Community yet again. However I have my own, fairly radical, theory. What if the 'Ass-Crack-Bandit' is actually none other than a returning Chevy Chase's Peirce Hawthorne. If Dan Harmon can come back, why not Chevy?
