Charlie Sheen's new sitcom breaks ratings record – Daily TV round-up

Charlie Sheen's new sitcom has drawn in the biggest-ever ratings in the US for a cable comedy show.

'Anger Management', broadcast by Fox offshoot FX, hauled in 5.47 million viewers during the first half of its 90-minute special premiere.

The second half then reached 5.74 million, making it the most-watched cable scripted comedy of all time.

The series is the first since Sheen was kicked off his previous show, the CBS sitcom 'Two And A Half Men', after publicly falling out with its creator Chuck Lorre and going on to suffer a public meltdown.

'Anger Management' stars Sheen as Dr. Charlie Goodson, a former baseball pro turned anger therapist who is battling anger issues of his own.

The idea for the show was drawn from the 2003 Jack Nicholson film of the same name. [Metro]
