Bye Betty

We were really sad to hear about the death of 'Corrie's Betty Driver on Saturday and so were you judging by the hundreds of tributes posted on the TV site.

The 91-year-old, who played barmaid Betty Williams, was the final link to the Rover's Return's golden era of Annie Walker, Bet Lynch and Hilda Ogden and was a smashing actress who could steal a scene with just a grumpy tut or a shrug of the shoulders.

It will be interesting to see how the writers deal with her exit over the coming months. Let's hope it's the fitting tribute that she deserves.
