Bart Simpson Dead: Sideshow Bob To Kill Bart In Upcoming Episode Of The Simpsons

One of the greatest criminal masterminds in cartoon history will finally get his wish this year: that’s right, Sideshow Bob is going to kill Bart Simpson.

After more than two decades of trying, dastardly Bob will dish out a revenge-filled demise to Bart in an upcoming episode of The Simpsons.

But fans of the 10-year-old troublemaker can breathe easy, as Bart will be murdered in a Halloween special Treehouse of Horror episode this autumn, meaning he will presumably be back in one piece the following week.

Frasier star Kelsey Grammer, the voice of Bob, will return to the role in the upcoming episode to kill Bart off.

Bob, who started out on The Simpsons as Krusty the Clown’s downtrodden sidekick, tried to frame his employer for robbery in 1990 Season One episode “Krusty Gets Busted”, only to be foiled by Bart… and his own big feet.

The eloquent spiky-haired fiend was released from prison in Season Three for the episode “Black Widower”, in which he married Bart’s Aunt Selma… and then tried to blow her up. In Season Five’s “Cape Feare”, Bart was his target, and he has been trying to off the catapult-wielding tyke ever since, although he did save his dad Homer’s life from another character bent on revenge, Frank Grimes Jr, in Season 14’s “The Great Louse Detective”.

The show’s executive producer, Al Jean, revealed that Bart’s head is for the chopping block during a panel discussion at the ATX Festival in Austin, Texas, saying that Bob finally deserved his retribution.

“I hated frustration comedy so we’ll scratch that itch,” said Jean.

"So Bob will finally somehow actually execute Bart – and then won’t know what to do with himself after his life’s mission has been accomplished."

It was also revealed that Spider-Pig (Homer’s pet Plopper from The Simpsons Movie in 2007) will return for the 27th season, although there is no update on a return for actor Harry Shearer, voice of Monty Burns and Ned Flanders, who walked out on the show last month over a contract dispute.
