The 'Britain's Got Talent' judge will join Philip Schofield on the morning show from September, presenting from Monday to Thursday.

Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes will continue to present on Fridays.

Christine Bleakley has also been drafted in, and will present during the latter part of Willoughby's leave from the show.

Said Holden: “"I'm over the moon to get the chance to present one of my favourite shows on TV and I'm thrilled to be keeping Holly's seat on the sofa warm when she goes off on maternity leave.

“I have always been a huge fan of This Morning and love presenting with Phillip so I really can't wait to get started.”

Added managing executive producer Emma Gormley: “Amanda is a great talent with warmth and charisma in abundance.   We are thrilled to have her join the This Morning family.”

33-year-old Willoughby, who has been on the show since will leave the show for 12 months, having hosted the show since 2009.

She and husband, TV producer Dan Baldwin, are deciding not to find out the sex of their third child, already having a boy Harry and a girl, Belle.

“Whatever comes it will be exciting,” she said.

“We found out the gender with Belle but we didn’t with Harry. Hand on heart, I don’t mind if I have a boy or girl.” [ITV]

Former 'Coronation Street' star Roy Barraclough, who used to play Alec Gilroy, has said that he no longer watches the show. “it has changed so much now from what it was,” he said. “It doesn’t have a hold on me like it used to. The characters have changed and it has drifted away from what it used to be – there was a lot of comedy then. In fact I don’t watch any of the soaps. They all follow each other, one outdoing the other. If one has a rape, the other has a rape. It’s a shame.” [Daily Mirror]

Veteran kid's TV presenter Derek Griffiths, of 'Play School' and 'Super Ted' fame, is to join the voice cast of 'Sarah & Duck' on Cbeebies. He will play a character called Cloud Captain when the show returns in August. [Digital Spy]

Lord Coe is the clear favourite to take over as the chairman on the BBC, according to economics editor Robert Peston. Writing on his blog, he said: “Of course his appointment is not 100 per cent, because there is a formal and slightly cumbersome appointments process. For the Government, which for this sort of thing really means the Prime Minister and Chancellor, Lord Coe is the outstanding candidate. So presumably they will find a way to get him over these many hurdles.” [Daily Mail]
