The Interceptor (Wed, 9pm, BBC1)
Pacy new drama. A botched operation leads Ash (O-T Fagbenle) and his best mate Tommy (Robert Lonsdale) to join the UNIT, a new undercover law enforcement team whose unswerving mission is to get to the criminals at the top of the chain. Ash loves two things: his family and catching criminals. Ignoring the fears of his wife Lorna (Jo Joyner), the risks this new job might entail and Lorna's dreams of a safe life for their family, he throws himself obsessively into his work. Driven by the ghosts of his past and uncompromising in his approach, Ash’s knowledge of the street soon starts to pay off. The UNIT get under the skin of a serious criminal drug gang but, as they begin to climb further up the organisation’s hierarchy and identify the key members, Ash’s two goals in joining the UNIT are brought into sharp conflict. When it comes to it, can Ash put his personal feelings aside in order to learn more about an organisation bigger than any of them could have imagined? And if he can’t, where does this leave his role in the UNIT? Pretty standard set-up but done with a bit of energy and flair.

Stonemouth (Thu, 9pm, BBC2)
Based on Iain Banks’ best-selling novel, Stonemouth is a two-part romantic mystery which delves into love, loyalty and vengeance. The impressive cast includes Peter Mullan, Christian Cooke and Charlotte Spencer. The first TV adaptation of Banks’ work since his death in 2013, Stonemouth centres on the character of Stewart Gilmour, who returns for his best friend’s funeral. Run out of Stonemouth two years earlier by girlfriend Ellie Murston’s criminal family, Stewart is forced to face up to his past whilst uncovering the sinister truth behind best friend Callum’s apparent suicide. Stewart resolves to find out what really happened, which means he must face the girl he left behind - Ellie. However, it’s quickly made clear to Stewart that all is not forgiven. Don Murston, Ellie’s dad and head of Stonemouth’s most notorious criminal family, gets his henchman Powell Imrie to set out the terms of Stewart’s return - he must leave immediately after the funeral, or else.

The Tribe (Thu, 9pm, C4)
Meet the Ayke Mukos family, fly-on-the-wall TV’s best new family. Living in four mud huts in southern Ethiopia, a three-generational tribal family, known to their friends and neighbours as the Ayke Mukos, have allowed cameras to film their lives. This extraordinary family, led by cantankerous elder Ayke Muko and his two wives, have been filmed day and night with small fixed-rig cameras similar to the ones used in The Family and Educating Yorkshire  Grandfather Ayke Muko and first wife, matriarch Kerri Bodo have known each other since childhood and have had a long and happy marriage. With energy and looks fading (as they both point out to one another), they accept it's time to slow down and Kerri Bodo encourages her husband to find a second, younger wife to help with the chores. As a respected Hamar elder, Ayke Muko has big responsibilities within the tribe, but when it starts to impact his already fragile health, his worried sons intervene. Engaged son Muko is looking forward to a new bride joining the household. Second son Arrada, who claims he was the first man in the tribe to get a phone, is called by the bride's family, summoning him and elder brother Zubo to talks. They must settle a price, paid in goats, to compensate the family's loss of their daughter. Two disastrous bridal negotiations later and Muko wonders if he'll ever get married.

TFI Friday (Fri, 9pm, C4)
Chris Evans' seminal entertainment show returns for a live 90-minute anniversary special with the original crew including Danny Baker. Chris presents brand new features and revisits former memorable segments, as well as celebrating some of the brilliant, anarchic moments in the show's colourful history. TFI Friday was at the heart of 90s Britpop, and featured some leading British and international bands, as guests queued up to appear during its run. Broadcasting from a new central London location, TFI promises to be an unmissable live television event. Also taking part will be Blur and Shaun Ryder. It’s just like the last 20 years never happened. Wish they hadn’t.

Kevin McCloud’s Escape To The Wild (Mon, 9pm, C4)
Kevin travels to a paradise desert island in the south Pacific to meet a British family who've quit the rat race to live a simpler life. Karyn, Boris and their three children appear to be living everyone's fantasy existence - but Kevin wants to uncover the reality behind the dream. The family's remote island home is nestled in the archipelago of Tonga. To get there, Kevin undertakes an epic five day journey. When Kevin finally arrives he's struck by the island's incredible natural beauty. But he wants to know how on earth anyone could live so far from civilization and how it's possible to raise children in such isolation. The family have built an off-grid home using natural materials from the island, which has no fresh water, no electricity, debilitating tropical heat, and faces regular threats from tsunamis. Combined with these physical challenges are the psychological trials of living with just each other for company. How do they cope? And why?
