This Starbucks Employee's Meltdown Against a Customer Will Make You Spit Out Your Coffee

WHAT. JUST. HAPPENED?!

A former (obviously) Starbucks barista in Queens, N.Y., who would only identify as Melissa, went completely ballistic on a customer last week.

Ruby Chen, the customer in question, claimed on Facebook that the argument started when she ordered a Frappuccino and didn't hear another employee ask for her name for the order.

Another customer took video of the incident which was uploaded to Facebook and has since been viewed over 1.5 million times. (WARNING: Some explicit language in the video)

"The customer’s experience is not reflective of the service our baristas provide. The employee was immediately suspended and no longer works for Starbucks. Our leadership team has reached out to the customer to make things right. This experience is not what we want our customers to have in our stores. We worked to quickly resolve this."

The employee gave her side of the story to PIX 11 following the incident.

"It was a ticking time bomb for me," said the barista. "I have been disrespected by customers all the time, this is not the first time."

Melissa also claimed the video doesn't show the whole story.

"She kept calling me names. And then she took the Frappuccino straw and she kept pointing it at my face," said the onetime barista. "When I asked her to step to the side, she started getting a couple of the other customers riled up. So I had five other men cursing me out."

Melissa, who worked for Starbucks for five years, claims she quit and was not fired by Starbucks after the incident.

Nonetheless, she's looking for a new job now!

The store manager, who said he was not allowed to identify himself, defended his former employee, saying, "This is a good person who did a bad thing."
