Keeping it in the family: Motherly love causes trouble on 'Coronation Street', daddy isn't dearest on 'EastEnders' and guess what? Parental trouble on 'Emmerdale'.

Coronation Street
So surprise, surprise. Turns out that it's harder to give up a surrogate baby than Tina imagined. Fortunately, instead of pointing in her face and shouting “I TOLD YOU SO!” Tommy is standing by her.

She's lucky to have him too. When she's finally allowed out after a week recuperating in hospital, it's clear he's delighted to have her home. But she can't settle. She pretends to him that she's concerned about Gary and Izzy – but it's clear to the emotionally sensitive Tommy (well, on this occasion) that she's fretting about the baby.

Anyhow, even as she pops in to see how the kid is, Gary and Izzy are now getting on a bit better. Izzy has started to come to terms with his drunken pass at Tina and the pair share a moment when naming their (cough) baby Jake. But their happiness is short lived, as they hear that Jake has brought up his milk – and it is thought to be down to a bowel infection, which will require surgery.

Tina is brought in once again to sign the consent forms for surgery. The operation goes according to plan and Gary and Izzy are delighted. Tina is so happy, she realises the uncomfortable truth. She tells Tommy that she loves Jake.

He is appalled – but after some thought he makes a big decision. He loves her no matter what and if she wants to keep Jake he'll stand by her and they'll be a family. What will Tina decide? And how will Gary and Izzy react?

EastEnders
Come on. You have to give it up to the ‘Enders writers for this.  Ian Beale wanting to call his new restaurant ‘Ian Beale @ Le Square’ shows a flash of humour that Le Square could really do more with. It's almost as good as if he'd opened a proper East End restaurant and called it ‘Jellied Beales’.

Anyway, fancy name, fancy prices. But how is Ian affording to open his new venture? Particularly as he's invited half Le Square to work in it and the other half to the opening. That's what Lucy wants to know. And well she might, because actually Ian is desperate for funds. So much so, that he nicks some blank cheques off her to pay for the opening.

To cover up, he admits that he found Derek's strong box with 10 grand in it. But when she asks how he's going to keep funding the place, he lies and tells her that Janine has put more cash in. Janine hasn't – and she's making the most of what she has put in – she changes the name of the place. Bah.

Anyway, it's not long before Lucy discovers that she's not investing any more cash – and finds out that her dad has been forging cheques in her name. But just as she's about to confront him – something happens that throws them both off their stride...

Also this week: Alice cracks and admits to Janine that she's been taking Scarlett to see Michael behind her back. Janine reacts by telling Michael he'll never see them again. Classy.

Emmerdale
Debbie's flirtation with Robbie was never going to end well. And indeed, now she has found out the the truth about his antics as ‘Kirk’, she tells Charity that he's going to get the surprise of his life.

She continues to flirt around with him – and indeed if anything gets cosier. She then tells him that if he coughs up some money, he can be part of the crew and work as if it is a proper business. Delighted, Robbie goes straight to Adam and convinces him he's in with Debbie and on to a sure thing. But when he sets off in the mini-van on a booze run, Debbie picks up the phone and dials ‘999’.

When he discovers at the police station that it was Debbie who set him up, he's left reeling. And as soon as he's released he heads to her house and a furious argument ensues. Just as he lunges for her Charity walks in. Things calm down – but Charity is upset that Sarah is around and has been exposed to such violence and danger.

The next day, after Diane also has a go at her, Debbie gets a taste of her own medicine, when she hears that someone has reported her to social services for ‘being a bad mother’ (is this a crime now? Soapland's jails would be full). She realises it's one of her family – but who is the turncoat who has dobbed her in?
