Sami gets boot as Louis refuses to take X Factor vote to deadlock

And then there were ten...

Louis Walsh refused to take the judge’s decision to deadlock this week as Sami Brookes became the latest act to leave this year’s ‘X Factor’. The over-25s mentor found himself in the unenviable position of having two of his acts singing for survival as both Kitty and Sami found themselves bottom of the public voting pile. But despite having an opportunity to take the judges vote to deadlock the Dubliner chose to wave goodbye to Sami as he decided the ‘Size sexy’ singer didn’t fit with his ‘X Factor’ plans. A decision that saw him booed by the ‘X Factor’ audience.

To be fair the writing had been on the wall for Sami who must have wished that she could have turned back time after Saturday night’s performance of Cher’s iconic anthem that Gary Barlow described as “totally boring”. But as well as being the bookies’ favourite to leave, reports had also been circulating on Sunday that the Welsh diva had fallen out with mentor Louis Walsh.

Speaking after yesterday’s show the Welsh diva openly criticised Louis’ song choice saying, “I was really upset that I had the song that I had, but I tried to be a bit positive about it.” The pair looked frosty at best after Louis took to the stage to bid farewell to his act and perhaps the rift had prompted the longstanding judge to save Kitty rather than offering Sami a lifeline.

After a superb sing-off which saw both acts belt out show-stopping survival songs; Tulisa, who’d come dressed as a cheap tinsel Christmas tree, offered Louis a get out of jail free card by opting to save Sami when both Gary and Kelly had plumped for Kitty. However Louis declined the opportunity saying:

“I’m not going to cop out and let it go to deadlock…I’ve got to go with my heart and the person I have to send home tonight is Sami.”

It was the end of a rough night for zany uncle impersonator Louis Walsh who’d also been forced into a grovelling climb-down after calling Misha B a bully in last night’s show.

Whilst Kitty broke down in typical hysterical fashion, Sami took the news well, even comforting the singer who’d be staying in the show at her expense. The bubbly brunette who’d once been described as “The voice of the competition” vowed to keep singing, telling pint-sized microphone jockey Dermot O’Leary:

“This experience has just been amazing, I may not be able to sell a million albums as Gary said, but I am going to sing for the rest of my life. Thank you so much for this opportunity.”

So thankfully that’s the end of rock week, an episode I suspect we’ll all be happy to see the back of. But do you think the judges made the right decision or should it have been Kitty that was thrown out with the litter? Let us know in the comments section below.
