Introduced as “a new member of our weather team”, Prince Charles looked remarkably comfortable and forecast "an unsettled picture as we head towards the end of the week".

Eagle-eyed viewers may have spotted a few Royal Scottish locations including Balmoral, Dumfries House and Castle of Mey were cheekily added to the map.

During a very rainy but humorous forecast, the heir to the throne joked "Who the hell wrote this script?" when forced to announce that there "may be potential for a few flurries over Balmoral."
At the end of the broadcast Prince Charles wrapped up the report with: "Thank God it isn't a bank holiday!"

Charles and Camilla are currently touring Scotland as part of a celebration of Scottish culture, history and achievements.

A Clarence House spokeswoman said: "He was taking a tour when he saw the weather board and had a go. I think he did it very well.

"He spends a lot of time in Scotland so he's very interested in the weather."
