A galaxy of stars do a lot of good work for charidee as they help Soccer Aid build on the £7.5 million it has raised for UNICEF since 2006. That’s, like, one million per year: couldn’t Robbie Williams, Michael Sheen, Will Ferrell, Gerard Butler, Mike Myers, James McAvoy, Gordon Ramsay et al have raised that with a Hollywood whip-round? Perhaps I’m missing the point. In this charity match, Williams’ England celebs (bolstered by Teddy Sheringham, David Seaman and Martin Keown) take on Sheen’s Rest of The World (featuring Roy Keane, Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Jaap Stam). Kenny Dalglish manages the latter: hope he has more luck than he did at Liverpool recently. Dermot O’Leary presents, with Kirsty Gallacher reporting pitch-side. Away from the football, short films throughout with the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Keira Knightley, Eddie Izzard and Keeley Hawes show the work done by UNICEF. Needless to say, there’s a reaction show afterwards, presented by Dave Berry: Soccer Aid Extra Time (Sun, 10pm, ITV4).
