This is a very worthy, entertaining and sometimes terribly sad two-part documentary in which four ‘Coronation Street’ stars travel to Kenya to help spread the message of safe sex and protection from HIV. And they are going to get the word out by the medium of putting on plays. The intrepid foursome are Sue Cleaver, who plays Eileen Grimshaw in the Street; Ryan Thomas (Jason Grimshaw); Brooke Vincent (Sophie Webster); and Ben Price (Nick Tilsley). There are plenty of laughs as they learn, and teach, about condoms; but the stars are genuinely upset by the plight of people in Mombassa. Sue, especially, is overcome when she meets 25-year-old expecting mum Patricia, who had a baby born HIV negative but infected him via breastfeeding. The results they get from their educational plays are both heartening and enjoyable to watch.
