Babies crying, toddlers running wild, parents conducting meetings while jiggling a kid on their knee. The workplace from hell, or a progressive, integrated, modern approach to parenting and work-life balance? With childcare and nursery costs getting up towards £80 a day in London, many parents face the choice between working for a net salary of next to nothing, or giving up careers. America, with its stingy maternity leave of six weeks or fewer, often unpaid, is leading the way in "babies at work" schemes. Could they catch on here? In this two-part documentary, cab firm Addison Lee tries out an experiment where eight parents bring in their nippers for a day. Can they still deal with their busy jobs? What effects will the presence of children have on morale? If the scheme works out, they'll give it a crack for a month. Stars of the show are phone booker Shellon Beckford and her cute three-month-old Madhka, youngest of six kids. This is a fun and nicely produced doc about an issue that touches the lives of all of us. But what about her five other sprogs?
