Swiss-born Nick spent most of his childhood outside and remembers that he didn’t have a TV or listen to much music until he was older. Just as Nick was saving up to go travelling aged 18 his Dad suffered a serious accident whilst paragliding meaning Nick was left to help both him and the family.

“It was difficult being 18 and having quite a lot of responsibility,” says Nick, “I had to use my initiative, I had to use my common sense, I had to plan things and organise things and I think those are skills I use in business every day.”

At university in Birmingham Nick set up his own successful coffee-stand which was sold once he had completed his degree and the job offers started rolling in. less
