Michael Le Vell signs new Corrie deal – Daily TV round-up

Star will reportedly be back on screens in February.

Michael Le Vell has signed a new deal with 'Coronation Street', according to reports.

The actor had been meeting with his show bosses at ITV following his acquittal on child sex charges last month.

Now it's emerged that the 48-year-old star will return to the soap around February next year.

A source told The Sun: “He just wants to put all this behind him now - and until he is back on the telly he feels like he is being followed by the hell of the last two years.

“Once he is back at 'Corrie' he can begin rebuilding his life.”

The on-screen absence of Le Vell, who has played mechanic Kevin Webster for 30 years on the show, has been explained away by him being in Germany caring for his sick father.

It was previously rumoured that he would be returning to the show sooner, and might even have been involved in a Christmas plot.

Le Vell was accused and charged earlier this year of several sex offences, but was cleared of all 12 counts during a week-long trial in September.

The trial revealed much information about his personal life, including a long-standing drink problem.

Nicole Scherzinger has said that her teary displays on 'The X Factor' have been due to her split with racing driver Lewis Hamilton. “On the personal side, it has been a hard year for me,” she said. “I am not a robot and I wear my heart on my sleeve. Music is part of my life and touches me, so I think I've been a bit more emotional. I was obviously going through some stuff internally and I think anyone could relate to that.” [New!]
