ITV in Loose Women ultimatum - Daily TV Round-Up

ITV have told their ‘Loose Women’ that they face the axe if the show’s fortunes don’t turn around in the next three months.

Carol Vorderman, Denise Welch, Janet Street-Porter and Carol McGiffin could all be fired after the lunchtime chat show reached a ratings low.

The show’s viewership has reportedly plummeted from two million to just 700,000.

ITV daytime boss Helen Warner, who created ‘Loose Women’, is reportedly unhappy with the show’s direction and is looking to make drastic changes in pursuit of a “newsier” feel for the show.

A source told The Sun: "Everyone's terrified. Helen has a clear idea of what she wants. She created 'Loose Women' in 1999 so it is her baby. She thinks it has strayed from her original vision."

The entire panel which also includes Sherrie Hewson, Jane McDonald, Lisa Maxwell, Sally Lindsay, Shobna Gulati, Linda Robson and Andrea McLean have been given 12 week contracts for the new series which will come under review in January.
