The caterer, played by Adam Woodyatt and friend Denise (Diana Parish) have recently struck up a romance, but Denise is still wary of relationships after being hurt in the past.
When Sharon Rickman holds a competition to find someone to make her wedding cake, Ian is so determined to win, he forgets to meet Denise for lunch.
He rushes to The Queen Vic pub to meet her and say sorry, and then asks her to taste his cake.
But Denise is fuming and shoves it right back in his face, indicating their relationship could be over before it's even begun.
Viewers will find out if Ian gets his just desserts when the scenes air on March 29.
