Doctor Who
David Tennant is back as the Doctor and there's no chance of him getting lonely this time around as five companions will be featured throughout the series.
Episode One, Partners In Crime, sees the Doctor reunited with 'runaway bride' Donna Noble (played by Catherine Tate). Tate first played the role in the 2007 Christmas special and fans were divided over her character, who many felt was incredibly irritating.
Last July's announcement that she was to play the Doctor's assistant for the entire fourth series was met with shock and it will be interesting to see if she can win over her critics in the role. If not, let's hope she meets a sticky end at some point!
We saw Martha Jones (played by Freema Agyeman) say goodbye to the Doctor at the end of the last series and since then she's popped up in a couple of episodes of spin-off show Torchwood. Martha will also be appearing in several episodes of the new Doctor Who series.
Speaking of Torchwood, Captain Jack will be putting in an appearance, as will Sarah Jane Smith - though we are most excited about the return of one particular companion. Yes, Billie Piper is back as Rose!
Exact storyline details are being kept under wraps but it is believed that the Doctors' companions - past and present - will team up to save his life in the series finale.
The new series will also feature guest appearances by Felicity Kendal, Peter Capaldi, Alex Kingston and Sarah Lancashire, who plays Miss Foster in the first episode.
Georgia Moffett, real-life daughter of Fifth Doctor Peter Davison, will also be appearing and rumour has it that the role is perfect for her. Hmmm, we wonder what that could mean...
