He's now one of the favourites to win this year's X Factor and walk off with a record deal, however, two years ago Olly Murs was after a completely different type of deal.

The 25-year-old appeared as a contestant on the popular Channel 4 quiz show Deal Or No Deal, where he competed to win the top prize of £250,000.

Corrie favourites Roy, Hayley and Becky are the stars of a brand new feature-length special, Coronation Street: Romanian Holiday.

The exclusive to DVD release sees Weatherfield oddballs Roy and Hayley set off to Romania to attend a friend's wedding, where they get the shock of their lives when they bump into Becky. Benidorm's Siobhan Finneran and Early Doors' John Henshaw also star.

Strictly plans Remembrance Day tribute

Strictly Come Dancing will mark Remembrance Day this weekend with a special performance of wartime dance, the Swing.

The programme will also feature the remaining celebrities and professional dancers paying a visit to soldiers from the SSAFA competition Soldier Come Dancing.

Hollyoaks actor Kieron Richardson and former Coronation Street actor Danny Young are the latest celebrities to join Dancing On Ice.

A source told Digital Spy that 23-year-old Kieron is embarking on an intensive training course ahead of the show, which is due to start early next year.

The actor will be following in the footsteps of his former Hollyoaks co-star Chris Fountain, who finished second in the 2008 series. ...

Strictly Come Dancing bans 'dangerous' poppies

The BBC has claimed that the reason the Strictly Come Dancing contestants didn't wear poppies on Saturday night's show was because they are dangerous.

Angry viewers reportedly got in touch afterwards to complain and outspoken radio host Nick Ferrari branded the decision 'absolutely shameful'.

A BBC spokesperson told The Sun: "It could be dangerous to pin the poppies on to them (the dancers) while they are flying around at high speed because they could fly off. ...

Simon Cowell has sparked controversy after leaving last night's X Factor decision to the public vote.

The judge, who had the deciding vote after Rachel and Lloyd found themselves in the bottom two, said he couldn't decide and that he wanted it to go to dead lock instead.
