Is Michael skating on thin ice?

The brand new series of Dancing On Ice has been hit by controversy before it even reaches our screens.

The other dancers feel that GMTV's Michael Underwood has an unfair advantage as this will be the third time he has trained to take part in the show, reports The Sun.

Michael trained as a reserve for the 2007 series and then last year trained again when he was confirmed to take part in the show. However, he was forced to pull out after breaking his ankle during training so is being given another chance this year.

A Dancing On Ice source told The Sun: "Other stars are furious that while they were learning basics like starting and stopping, Michael was probably practising the headbanger. It's unfair and they told him they think so."

Michael has responded to the claims and said: "Yes, I can see why people say that. In some ways it's an advantage - but breaking your leg isn't. It takes a long time to get over that."

Do you think Michael should be allowed a third chance on the show - or is it unfair to the other skaters? Let us know what you think...

I think he has the right to take part in the show at the end of the day. It's all about the entertainment value of the show i think really. Maybe he'll feel under more pressure as he has done it before. Nigel, Northampton

He should be taking part, he may have trained before and know the basics, but he now also has the fear factor. He will be nervous especially as he still has the rod in his ankle, he want to do any more damage.
