Is Michael skating on thin ice?

The brand new series of Dancing On Ice has been hit by controversy before it even reaches our screens.

The other dancers feel that GMTV's Michael Underwood has an unfair advantage as this will be the third time he has trained to take part in the show, reports The Sun.

Michael trained as a reserve for the 2007 series and then last year trained again when he was confirmed to take part in the show. However, he was forced to pull out after breaking his ankle during training so is being given another chance this year.

A Dancing On Ice source told The Sun: "Other stars are furious that while they were learning basics like starting and stopping, Michael was probably practising the headbanger. It's unfair and they told him they think so."

Michael has responded to the claims and said: "Yes, I can see why people say that. In some ways it's an advantage - but breaking your leg isn't. It takes a long time to get over that."

Do you think Michael should be allowed a third chance on the show - or is it unfair to the other skaters? Let us know what you think...

Michael should be allowed to have his 1st PROPER go.He may have a small advantage but his ankle will never be the same again so thats a plain disadvantage evening it up.

its entertainment...seeing these nobodys try to make something out of their downward spiral..with the will they or won't they fall. Tod (the John Sargeant) has been retained to add the controversy to the show and lets be honest do we count the votes?

Where's the entertainment in these shows. It's now gone beyond sport or entertainment, all about winning. Too much sour grapes, tears and hard luck stories. Of course he should be allowed on the show and good luck to him, no doubt if he wins he'll get the flack and if he doesn't they'll find someone else to moan about.
