Is Michael skating on thin ice?

The brand new series of Dancing On Ice has been hit by controversy before it even reaches our screens.

The other dancers feel that GMTV's Michael Underwood has an unfair advantage as this will be the third time he has trained to take part in the show, reports The Sun.

Michael trained as a reserve for the 2007 series and then last year trained again when he was confirmed to take part in the show. However, he was forced to pull out after breaking his ankle during training so is being given another chance this year.

A Dancing On Ice source told The Sun: "Other stars are furious that while they were learning basics like starting and stopping, Michael was probably practising the headbanger. It's unfair and they told him they think so."

Michael has responded to the claims and said: "Yes, I can see why people say that. In some ways it's an advantage - but breaking your leg isn't. It takes a long time to get over that."

Do you think Michael should be allowed a third chance on the show - or is it unfair to the other skaters? Let us know what you think...

YET ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF A FIXED COMPETITION BY ARROGANT PRODUCERS. REMEMBER WHO PAYS YOUR SALARY. YES ITS US AS THE ADVERTISERS KNOW FULL WELL. Lesser Weevil.

This is only a bit of fun in an otherwise boring world, let the lad have his chance, he never asked to break his leg, so he deserves another chance, do the other contestants feel that he is a threat to them, it is the huge ego"s that spoil these programes, do people not have genuine worries, how petty to argue over this.

Isn't it a good job none of last years celebs spat their dummies out when Chris Fountain skated, after all he had a massive advantage than the others being a trained Ice hockey player. MIchael will have to go through all the basics due to his break. Arn't celebs meant to set an example to those watching it, it's a shame they don't think about the good sportsmanship and just get on with doing their best. Good luck to all of them
