Is Michael skating on thin ice?

The brand new series of Dancing On Ice has been hit by controversy before it even reaches our screens.

The other dancers feel that GMTV's Michael Underwood has an unfair advantage as this will be the third time he has trained to take part in the show, reports The Sun.

Michael trained as a reserve for the 2007 series and then last year trained again when he was confirmed to take part in the show. However, he was forced to pull out after breaking his ankle during training so is being given another chance this year.

A Dancing On Ice source told The Sun: "Other stars are furious that while they were learning basics like starting and stopping, Michael was probably practising the headbanger. It's unfair and they told him they think so."

Michael has responded to the claims and said: "Yes, I can see why people say that. In some ways it's an advantage - but breaking your leg isn't. It takes a long time to get over that."

Do you think Michael should be allowed a third chance on the show - or is it unfair to the other skaters? Let us know what you think...

It’s a family show. With all the sorrow and grief that is happening and continuing to happen in the world, is it really important! Time for people to stop being so petty and enjoy quality time with laughter not argue over meaningless affairs!

yes michael deserves another chance on dancing on ice. I enjoyed his relaxed attitude the last time and look forward to him skating again. Some stars take it to serious.

He should be allowed to continue, he has worked hard for his chance and he should get it. Tell the other contestants not to be so childish.

This is nonsense. This particular reality show is the one which sorts the wheat from the chaff. Those with the best natural ability come through to win. Please stop complaining and get on with it!
