Is Michael skating on thin ice?

The brand new series of Dancing On Ice has been hit by controversy before it even reaches our screens.

The other dancers feel that GMTV's Michael Underwood has an unfair advantage as this will be the third time he has trained to take part in the show, reports The Sun.

Michael trained as a reserve for the 2007 series and then last year trained again when he was confirmed to take part in the show. However, he was forced to pull out after breaking his ankle during training so is being given another chance this year.

A Dancing On Ice source told The Sun: "Other stars are furious that while they were learning basics like starting and stopping, Michael was probably practising the headbanger. It's unfair and they told him they think so."

Michael has responded to the claims and said: "Yes, I can see why people say that. In some ways it's an advantage - but breaking your leg isn't. It takes a long time to get over that."

Do you think Michael should be allowed a third chance on the show - or is it unfair to the other skaters? Let us know what you think...

What are the other dancers worried about? Michael does deserve a chance to be on the show just like they are getting. I dont recall it saying that he actually went and broke his own ankle! Its a competition yes but its also entertainment! The dancers should go out and ENTERTAIN us and have some fun while at it...

Yes why why why not. People should not get fussy over petty things. There are better things to be fussy about, after all its just dancing to intertain us viewers. Michael go for it.

At least they're getting paid for being crap at something. Most people'd be on the dole queue for being crap.
