Snakes On A Task

The Apprentice's Simon Smith

OK, now we're confused. Only last week we were saying that it seemed Sir Alan had a soft spot for Simon and that the ex-squaddie could do no wrong - and now just one week later he's been fired!

To make matters worse, Sir Alan fired Simon over Alex and Claire (more about those two in a moment) - what is going on?

To be fair, it was a disastrous task for Simon with his team managing to lose money - their photography business having to turn customers away after a mix-up over order numbers. But just how big a part did Alex and Claire play in his downfall?

Last night saw those two - favourites of ours earlier in the series - show their true colours as total snakes. Alex was shirking responsibility right from the start of the task when Simon wanted to appoint him as deputy. This is despite his own declaration that he is the strongest person in the contest! If Alex really is that talented, he's been hiding it well. It was also interesting to see Alex turn on Claire in the boardroom when he thought his own position was in danger. Sir Alan, please see through the sad eyes and pretty boy looks and fire him!

Like Alex, Claire was obstructive throughout the task and seemed to be enjoying it when everything started to go wrong for Simon. Margaret (who appeared to be in a foul mood last night - go Margaret!) got it spot on when she commented that Claire had treated Simon like dirt. So why would Sir Alan want someone like that working for him? It will be interesting to see how she copes next week as team-leader. The others looked less than thrilled at this news.

The Lucinda bullying continued last night with Helene taking her turn to pick on the softly spoken, beret-wearing one. Is anyone going to step in and defend her? And what's wrong with Raef? He spoke about two words last night. We're heard of keeping your head down in the early stages but this is ridiculous.

Are you as shocked as we are to see Simon out of the contest? How did Alex and Claire manage to escape this time? And with Simon gone, who is your favourite to win now?

I thought that Sir Alan would have fired Claire because he said to get out to her but instead he told her to go back in the house. Claire or helen from the other team should of got fired insted of Simon. He should of sacked both of the team leaders because they both hopeless and just think that they were doing the right thing in their heads.

Alan didnt want to sack him just by looking at his facial expressions when he did sack him...........had Alan needed a grafter and loyal apprentice and not a money mad one then I think Simon was the man for those jobs. He came across as a very genuine and hard working bloke but needs more experience in management as he looked a little lost giving direction and instruction, but at the end of the day a truely genuine and good bloke was the real image given out last night! Well done Simon there arent many of your sort our there and its a sad place without blokes like you....well done and good luck to you!

i think that simon should not be fired and alex and claire should be bloody fired! alex was not working together in the team and he was obviously staying out and claire was doing nothing except arguing. At the end of the day what do they get? nothing but loss of money!

None of them appear to have any talent. The women are awful. At least, if nothing else, the men are easy on the eye. Lee and Raef seem the 'nicest' of the bunch. Sir Alan was right to sack Simon and right about him being out of his depth, but he's not the only one. PS... will people stop tying the word 'of' ' instead of ' have '?

Clare should definately have been fired. Totaly useless, always ready to pass the buck and a backstabber to boot. Not the sort of person I would want in my business.Helene is just as bad, if not worse. She could not stop complaining about working in the kitchen instead of concentrating on this weeks task. Sir Alan, FIRE them both at the earliest opportunity.

There should be a recount!!! The other team cheated their customers with photo's printed on plain paper instead of photo paper. they should be made to forfiet all of these sales. If I was one of their customers I would demand my money back. Sir Alan, is this the kind of sales practice you condone?

Alex is so manipultive!!! I really think he should of got fired. Simon really had potential- his heart was set in the right place. I find it upsetting to watch LUCINDA get BULLIED and ignored! Most of the women have been particulary spiteful towards her. I find it a shame that hardly none of the contestants are really likable. I must say though, I can see Kevin going far and Raef.
