Strictly Come Dancing may be over for another year but the controversy continues with reports of problems with the voting lines and backstage tears from the unlucky finalists.

Holby City actor Tom Chambers triumphed in Saturday's final despite making mistakes in his final dances - meanwhile, Lisa Snowdon finished in third place in the public vote despite getting two perfect sets of scores from the judges.

Lisa's father told the Telegraph that the presenter was 'fuming' that Tom had made it through to the final after the BBC suspended the phone vote during the semi-final.

He said: "To be honest Lisa was fuming because she felt that she and Rachel should have been in the final outright.

"Something went wrong and it needs to be sorted for next year because some of the voting was bordering on farcical. The whole show was just one big popularity contest."

The paper also claims that many fans were unable to vote for both Rachel and Lisa because the phone lines were constantly busy.

Rachel Stevens has admitted that she was a 'blubbering wreck' after hearing the result and had to quickly leave the studios.

    The wrong person won the contast. He should not have been in the final and should have gone out the week before as he had made many mistakes and wasn't the best dancer.

    I think the best person won, it is more difficult for a man to dance as he has to lead. There was always going to be a problem towards the end of the competition anyway because of John Sergeant pulling out, it upset the numbers.

    There is no way he deserved to win, the final sould have been Rachel and Lisa, either of those should have picked up the trophy. Lisa for her fantastic transformation throughout the seires and the two perfect scores. Rachel for her being so good throughtout the whole series. Tom on the other hand made mistakes, was inconsistant I love the program but it needs to be fair as this outcome was utterly stupid

    I honestly consider Rachel and Lisa was far the better dancers than Tom. The voting fiascal is an absolute disgrace

    Tom won just accept it. He is an all round entertainer and he may not be the "most perfect" dancer but his final dance was the best. Perhaps if Brendan had done a better choreography for the show dance it may haver been different. Just stop moaning

    TOM DESERVED TO WIN, I VOTED 3 TIMES AND AS THE PRESENTERS' SAID YOU HAD TO KEEP TRYING AS HIS LINE WAS BUSY TOO! BOTTOM LINE IS.. HIS FINAL DANCE WAS THE BEST SHOW DANCE THE SHOW HAS EVER SEEN HENCE WHY HE WON.....ALSO HE IS A GREAT GUY AND WOULDN'T BE CRYING IF HE HAD LOST LIKE THE OTHER SAD LOSERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    yes, of course the right person won. He had the hardest job, being the man, @ had to learn not only to dance,but to lead. He was marverlous clever @ a good dancer. I hope someone takes him up on it.

    The wrong person won the final. Tom should never have ben in the final in the first place. Last year there were only two finalists because Kelly had to drop out so why should it have been different this year. To get two perfect scores and still not make the final seems unfair to that dancer who has made the most improvement, Tom has not really improved since the beginning of the series it just helped that he was in a soap opera.
