Strictly Come Dancing's Tom Chambers

Strictly Come Dancing may be over for another year but the controversy continues with reports of problems with the voting lines and backstage tears from the unlucky finalists.

Holby City actor Tom Chambers triumphed in Saturday's final despite making mistakes in his final dances - meanwhile, Lisa Snowdon finished in third place in the public vote despite getting two perfect sets of scores from the judges.

Lisa's father told the Telegraph that the presenter was 'fuming' that Tom had made it through to the final after the BBC suspended the phone vote during the semi-final.

He said: "To be honest Lisa was fuming because she felt that she and Rachel should have been in the final outright.

"Something went wrong and it needs to be sorted for next year because some of the voting was bordering on farcical. The whole show was just one big popularity contest."

The paper also claims that many fans were unable to vote for both Rachel and Lisa because the phone lines were constantly busy.

Rachel Stevens has admitted that she was a 'blubbering wreck' after hearing the result and had to quickly leave the studios.

Do you think this year's final was a farce? Did the right person win? Let us know what you think...

I agree, Rachel should have won, she was far better than Tom, and even though she made one minor slip up at the end of her second dance I don't think that should matter, seeing as Tom stumbled and nearly dropped poor Camilla. Oh well never mind.....at least the right person won the X Factor

I think that Tom own fair and square he was the nest dancer on the night and the most consistent throughout the whole competition. Rachel is perhaps a sore loser.....

Tom absolutely should have won - his show dance was amazing! I loved Lisa and supported her throughout but I think that with a show such as this, the public's decision should be respected and Tom obviously had a lot of fans...

I think that there is a lot of drama over a television programme. It is purely for entertainment purposes. There's more important things to worry about.

people should lighten up about it all. the phone money goes to charity and does it matter who one? strictly has never been about the best dancer, never will be. Do people get irate when the best singer doesnt win xfactor? no coz its all personal choice. I prefered watching tom dance than any of the girls even though i do think racheal was the better dancer technically. People need to get a life and chill out bout it all.
