Arlene slates Strictly finalists

Strictly Come Dancing's Arlene Phillips has hit out at this year's finalists, saying none of them are as good as last year's winner Alesha Dixon.

The judge said that, despite being a good dancer, Rachel Stevens isn't a 'bubbly, bouncy girl' like Alesha and she accused bookies' favourite Tom Chambers of 'over-acting', reports The Sun.

Arlene said: "What's odd about Tom is, one would think, because he's an actor, he would know how to portray a dance.

"But we can see him acting the role and that's off-putting."

She added that Lisa Snowdon was the most likeable out of the final three but admitted that she would have preferred to see Austin Healey, who was voted out several weeks ago, win the series.

    Why would any of the contestants listen to a burnt old has-been like her anyway. They all put so much effort into the series anyway why should they stand to be critisised by her for something which is only for entertainment value.

    I say lighten up, Arlene - this is an entertainment show - the competitors are not competing for the World Professional Ballroom Championships!! The viewers want to be entertained. I hope Tom Chambers wins - but still wish iot had been John Sergeant!!

    Arlene's comments are about as poor as her judging.She and the rest of the judges do not seem to understand that the viewers' interest is in the competitors and not ill considered comments from the judges.I think that a complete change of the judging panel would greatly improve the watchability of Strictly.

    If Lisa wins it will be a fix - she is the actor of this bunch - always putting on the tears when she thinks it might get her votes! Austin should have been in the final but as long as either Tom or Rachel wins then I will watch again next season - if Lisa wins I will seriously consider not bothering next year. Vote off Lisa everyone!!!!
