Strictly Come Dancing's Arlene Phillips has hit out at this year's finalists, saying none of them are as good as last year's winner Alesha Dixon.
The judge said that, despite being a good dancer, Rachel Stevens isn't a 'bubbly, bouncy girl' like Alesha and she accused bookies' favourite Tom Chambers of 'over-acting', reports The Sun.
Arlene said: "What's odd about Tom is, one would think, because he's an actor, he would know how to portray a dance.
"But we can see him acting the role and that's off-putting."
She added that Lisa Snowdon was the most likeable out of the final three but admitted that she would have preferred to see Austin Healey, who was voted out several weeks ago, win the series.

I agree with Arlene. Tom overacted all his dances which I found quite off-putting. Austin Healey was without doubt the best dancer and should have won the series.
Posted by: m.moss524 on Mon Dec 22 02:42PM | Report abuseI think being able to watch this all over again is FAB-U-LUS...Just wished that Craig would not be so cruel with some of his comments, all the celebs do try & try really hard to master the dances a lot of blood, sweat & tears go into these routines. Shame about the voting problems..why was there no hue & cry when the public voted to keep John in when it was blatantly obvious he has no sense of rythm & looked uncomfortable in all of his outfits.

The BEEB have spoiled Camilla's win, unforgivable, what a shame. Don't treat us like silly people please, we are the supporters of the programme, or were. Kate Walker

I think the public vote should not be the deciding factor - the professional judges should have the final say. And what about all the people who were unable to get through to vote for Rachel or Lisa?

As far as last years winner, that has nothing to do with this years competiton and although my favorite was Tom, I thought all 3 were better than Alesia. It was very obvious that Arlene was gunning for Austin, possibly it was not only his dancing.!!!!!!!! she was watching.

Posted by: juliav67 on Mon Dec 22 04:09PM | Report abuseArlene is probably right in that Austin should have won, however it was her and her fellow judges who harshly down marked him and then preffered to keep Lisa who to be fair was not a patch on Austin as a dancer. So Rachel isn't as bubbly as Alesha....few people are. However technically she was a better dancer as Arlene and her fellow judges marked her accordingly.

They can't be that good as judges, because they always differed in their opinions. Let's have Anton du Beke as head judge and other equally 'fair' and positive judges, next year, or make it a completely democratic result, using public votes only, particularly in the final stages.

Frankly Arlene's comments liken her to a spoilt child who can't get her own way, likewise the fuming Lisa. Well done to all the contestance and congratulations Tom. Looking forward to the next series great entertainment.
