Strictly Come Dancing's Arlene Phillips has hit out at this year's finalists, saying none of them are as good as last year's winner Alesha Dixon.
The judge said that, despite being a good dancer, Rachel Stevens isn't a 'bubbly, bouncy girl' like Alesha and she accused bookies' favourite Tom Chambers of 'over-acting', reports The Sun.
Arlene said: "What's odd about Tom is, one would think, because he's an actor, he would know how to portray a dance.
"But we can see him acting the role and that's off-putting."
She added that Lisa Snowdon was the most likeable out of the final three but admitted that she would have preferred to see Austin Healey, who was voted out several weeks ago, win the series.
What do you think of Arlene's comments? Do you think this year's finalists match up to last year's winner Alesha? Let us know what you think...

Arlene is very unprofessional .......... and should not be a judge in the next series. Her comments to the 'bad' dancers, especially John were very uncalled for, but I did think Tom should be the winner, after all it is a public vote competion and not a judging one, if they want only the judges to count then is shouldn't be open to the public (but then they wouldn't make all their money) and then it can be just another dance competion.

Posted by: denispking on Mon Dec 22 01:28PM | Report abuseWhilst I appreciate that Lisa and Rachel danced beautifully I have to say that I am pleased Tom won. He has been good from week 1. Lisa should have gone out on several occasions in the dance off. Plus both Lisa and Rachel had the benefit of a professional male dancer taking the lead. Lisa's show dance was awful (as was the costume),Tom's show dance was far more entertaining than Rachel's. It is sad when people lose but people would like them more if they were gracious losers. Going back to one of the earlier contests, Erin and Colin Jackson had been consistently good but failed to win. It's the luck of the draw. WGC viewer.
Posted by: lesley.hadleigh on Mon Dec 22 01:29PM | Report abuseWithout a doubt Tom & Camillla did the best showdance. Maybe they weren't the technically best but Tom's sheer love of dancing clearly showed and this is what the voting public loved about him. Personally I voted for Rachel but at the end of the day it is only a competition not something to get so het up about!!

Posted by: stephanie.corbett1 on Mon Dec 22 01:36PM | Report abuseI hoped Vincent & Rachel would win, as they were so elegant, graceful, professional & not show off's in any way. I'm very upset about the way John Sargent was treated, that told us that the judges, opinions even then were out of step with the public.
Posted by: jryapp on Mon Dec 22 01:36PM | Report abuseThis show, and XFactor are an embarrassment, but sadly, reflect the UK's viewing taste. I'm sick of it being rammed down our throats, and the assumption that everyone watches it. That Xfactor song is just a pitiful Karoke version of the Leonard Cohen classic. The sort of cr*p you expect on holiday in Benidorm.
Posted by: dphopes on Mon Dec 22 01:42PM | Report abuseThe public vote for the most entertaining - the majority of us know nothing about dance steps or what makes a perfect dance. I loved Tom's entjhusiasm, commitment and sense of fun - let's be honest, he was the most entertaining of the three finalists. The two girls were very good, but far too intense for what is, after all, a fun programme. If they want to be judged as dancers, then enrol for dance school - not an entertainment programme.
Posted by: eam1904 on Mon Dec 22 01:45PM | Report abuseHow dare Arlene! Her bullying - of John Sargeant and the people who voted for him - was instrumental in changing the tone of the programme. It destroyed the fun and the creativity. Without John and Kristina the audience were left with competitors who were smug and lacked entertainment value. The last few weeks of the show have been enjoyed only by the remaining competitors and their friends and families. Worse - Tom is not a particularly popular or entertaining winner - tho' he was the best of a poor bunch - and the losers are proving to be poor losers ...
Posted by: marie.leonard on Mon Dec 22 01:46PM | Report abuseI feel this year's Strictly was by far the best I have seen! Sadly, the best couple did not win and that is so so so bad. Something should be done to put this right, Rachel and Vincent were the BEST couple of all 6 series. Next year the judges should decide by the last 2 dances, who wins after all this is NOT a popularity contest! Did BBC fix it for Tom to win, I wonder? Levitha Hughes.
