Arlene slates Strictly finalists

Strictly Come Dancing's Arlene Phillips has hit out at this year's finalists, saying none of them are as good as last year's winner Alesha Dixon.

The judge said that, despite being a good dancer, Rachel Stevens isn't a 'bubbly, bouncy girl' like Alesha and she accused bookies' favourite Tom Chambers of 'over-acting', reports The Sun.

Arlene said: "What's odd about Tom is, one would think, because he's an actor, he would know how to portray a dance.

"But we can see him acting the role and that's off-putting."

She added that Lisa Snowdon was the most likeable out of the final three but admitted that she would have preferred to see Austin Healey, who was voted out several weeks ago, win the series.

What do you think of Arlene's comments? Do you think this year's finalists match up to last year's winner Alesha? Let us know what you think...

All the judges think they are better than the stars and reckon everything revolves around them. Get rid of them all!! Better still put something else on a Saturday night other than shows like this and X factor!!!

She's always changing her mind. Anyway how can she judge ballroom dancing when she is only a choreographer. I'd like to see her try to dance. Len is the only one who knows about ballroom, he was a champion

She changes her opinion every two minutes. One minute someone isnt acting enough, now Tom acts too much. She moans Rachel isnt bubbly n bouncy, yet she gives her a ten. I say make your mind up woman!! What i dont like is she will really slate Tom on some issue eg foot work, then Lisa will do the same thing wrong & she will just comment on it.As if to say oh dont worry you did such n such wrong but it doent really matter and give her a higher score.Either its wrong or not, you dont have one rule for one & one for another, Craig & Arlene!!! I love all 3 in the final pleased who every wins they have all done so well. 1 way of improving this for next year get rid of C & A the show is about the dancing not them & their over sized egos!!!

It was obvious from the start that she favours Austin, as well as the other judges, but if she felt that way why did she and the others vote him off, because they know that Tom is better, but they don't want to admit it, get over it and move on , the three best ones are in the final.Tom or Rachel to win

the show has been ruined this series. the judges are bullies, they have been biased, more interested in their own egos. what is a great format has been ruined by smutty remarks and innuendo. i dont want to see these so say stars eating at restaurants sharing meals. get some morals back and get back to the dancing, watching good family entertainment. start with new judges and a new host. i will not be watching the final.

I don't know why Arlene is even saying these things. For a start she wouldn't say it to the contestants faces, the competition is derfinatley as good as last years. My view is that Arlene Philips is a misserable old woman that wants to see herself in the papers more often and aquire more fame through stupid antics such as this article.

people seemed to be getting worked up over this programme in a peculiar and unpleasant way ... i used to enjoy this programme. tbh i'll be glad when its over and the mind-numbing "controversies" and 'luviness' which has taken over.
