Strictly Come Dancing's Tom Chambers

Holby City star Tom Chambers is facing an angry backlash from some Strictly Come Dancing viewers who believe he should not be in Saturday night's final.

The actor was given a pass through to the final after the BBC abandoned the phone vote last weekend.

All three couples were allowed through when it became clear that viewers voting for Tom would be unable to save him from the dance-off, due to the tie between Lisa and Rachel at the top of the leaderboard.

Originally votes from last weekend were to be carried over to the final but they now won't be counted and the BBC are offering a refund to anyone who voted.

However, many fans of the series are unhappy that Tom will feature in the final and some are calling for him to do the honorable thing and step down, reports the Daily Mirror.

A show insider told the paper: "Things have turned sour for Tom since Saturday. He and Camilla wanted to get through properly, not be given a free ride. They feel they could have won a dance-off.

"Camilla is really upset and has been crying. She doesn't want anyone to think they have cheated in any way."

Do you think Tom deserves his place in the final? Let us know what you think...

no he shouldnt be there - if he had any principles her would stand down and let the two @#$% through to fight the final - carrying forward the votes was another con - he was ahead so he couldnt get knocked out with his level of public support, no matter how badly he danced. no matter how good his final dance was, he shouldnt have been there since he didnt earn the place fairly. Typical modern star, no principles or sense of honesty and fair play. sad end to a great series.

I am over the moom that Tom won Strictly come dancing. Lisa and Rachel are just sore losers. Tom has personality in buckets and they've got nothing on him at all. If Rachel had won, that would have been the last time I watched Strictly ever. How dare they say that he did not deserve to be in the final. His last dance was mesmerising. When Rachel danced her last dance, I couldn't be bothered seriously. Lisa was okay although she made numerous mistakes in her last dance and Brendan outshone her. Good for you Tom. HIp hip Hooray!!!

Once more I'll say it. In any election, the one with most votes goes through or wins the contest. Tom got through on default and did not deserve to be in the final. Stupid females, and probably some males, have been voting for him due to his looks and not his dancing. Lastly, the phone lines for Lisa and Racheal were said to be busy busy busy as an explanation by the BBC as to why people couldn't get through. If that were true, then logically the votes for them would have been a lot more than there was for Tom. Nuff said, I think.

The BBC ought also to look at the voting on the previous week, when Austin Healey was voted off - I tried three times to vote for him but each time got a recorded message saying that there was " a fault on the line". I gave up after an hour, as I suspect did many others. Of course Tom Chambers should have won once Austin Healey was out - he had presence and style and was not a D list "celebrity" .

Yes I think Tom should have been in the final, but perhaps they should have had a dance off as normal as I always thought that it was always the viewers vote that counted, Tom could have won the dance off, now we will never know but for me Tom is a worthy winner

We voted for him three times on the night and twice at the semifinal, if others thought and voted the same as us - he is the right winner. He was a joy to watch.
