Holby City star Tom Chambers is facing an angry backlash from some Strictly Come Dancing viewers who believe he should not be in Saturday night's final.

The actor was given a pass through to the final after the BBC abandoned the phone vote last weekend.

All three couples were allowed through when it became clear that viewers voting for Tom would be unable to save him from the dance-off, due to the tie between Lisa and Rachel at the top of the leaderboard.

Originally votes from last weekend were to be carried over to the final but they now won't be counted and the BBC are offering a refund to anyone who voted.

However, many fans of the series are unhappy that Tom will feature in the final and some are calling for him to do the honorable thing and step down, reports the Daily Mirror.

A show insider told the paper: "Things have turned sour for Tom since Saturday. He and Camilla wanted to get through properly, not be given a free ride. They feel they could have won a dance-off.

"Camilla is really upset and has been crying. She doesn't want anyone to think they have cheated in any way."

    Tom and Camilla worked hard, put on a performance eaach time and they got the viewers votes by engaging with the audience more than others did. CONGRATULATIONS TO THEM BOTH

    I think Tom shone on the night and it looked as if the other 2 competitors had accepted this with grace. All this argy bargy comments being aired puts a person off what has been a wonderful show to follow.

    Of course it is disappointing that someone has to lose but Tom's dance was magic and he deserved to win. This is a public vote and the public loved him. If the rules are changed to only allow dance perfection to win, the programme will become very boring. WELL DONE TOM, WE LOVED YOUR FINAL DANCE, WONDERFUL.

    I have been watching the programme since it started, I have always been a fan of Tom because even though he was given some bad remarks by the judges, he always came back fighting. he is a good dancer and did deserve to be in the final. Len said about his showdance that even though Rachels was very good he thought Tom's was better so good luck to him & Claire for the future. Pat Barnes

    I think Tom should have gone out at the semi finals. He is likeable but the competition is not about this. He did overact the dances and it was just that, an act - did not feel the dance, it did not come from within. I think he won on the sympathy card of his wedding and honeymoon . As for Camilla she was almost manic in her last 2 dances. I can understand her deep desire to win but she kept harping on about how she missed the finals twice. So What??? she was not good enough on those occasions and she certainly was not best this time round. Vincent, the quiet, humble, gifted one was the best.So was Rachel. viv, cwmbran

    I dont understand why people get upset about Tom won end of story! The only thing they - BBC could have done better was the phone lines was too busy I voted for Rachel 2-3 times.

    NO NO NO - TNo Final for Tom - the rules should have been followed and he should have been in the Dance off last week and then the judges would have eliminated him on grounds of inferior dancing. This is what the show was about - getting eliminated - not getting a free pass! It is a shame that he won and totally unfair to Rachel and Lisa
