Viewers are up in arms after news that ITV has decided to skip straight to episode three of Pushing Daisies so that the end of the series doesn't clash with Euro 2008.

The first episode of the US drama, which stars British actress Anna Friel, debuted last weekend with 5.7 million viewers.

Now angry fans of the show are bombarding online forums with complaints after it was revealed that ITV are not showing the second episode.

There are nine episodes in the first series of the fantasy drama and ITV have only eight weeks in the schedule before the start of the football tournament.

An ITV spokesperson said: "Episode two was the only show we could drop without spoiling the storyline."

We think this decision shows a total disregard for viewers. Couldn't they have scheduled a double-bill one week or screened the final episode earlier or later in the evening to avoid a clash with the football? Why promote a series so heavily and then treat it like this?

    WHOT A WASTE OF TIME SHOW THEM ALL ITS JUST LIKE WHEN THEY PUT A FILM ON AT 9pm THEN STOP 4 THE NEWS ITS 45 MINS LATER WHO WANTS TO WATCH THE FILM THEN SO SHOW ALL 9 EPISODES OR DO ITV EVEN CARE I THING NOT

    I see the TV companies still have no repect for the viewer, they feel they can do this, yet still show endless repeats of other shows at peak times.

    not a great show, not a great channel, they seem to be struggling in every department at the moment. Just a talent show channel now. I'll just stick to the Beeb for now.

    I think that the programme is so poor that it should be dropped altogether! it is supposed to be funny but it would struggle to make a five year old laugh,whoever decided that it was good for prime time tv on a Saturday night should seriously reconsider their future.

    Disgraceful. How about only showing one half of the football. Let's face it there aren't going to be many English people worried about watching the first round anyway !!

    I haven't watched any of this show, but I think it's ridiculous that ITV have elected to drop an episode simply because of the football. Why does everything on TV have to revolve around the football season? There's no reason why they couldn't have done a double bill one week or put it on ITV 4 or something like that. Doing things like this drives people to watch shows illegally on the internet.
