Britney Spears has reportedly proven herself to be the biggest diva ever to appear on The X Factor after snubbing the contestants and refusing to meet Simon Cowell backstage.
The singer, who appeared on Saturday night's show, also turned down the dressing room provided and instead insisted on using Simon Cowell's private green room.
Britney's minders banned Simon Cowell from chatting to the star in her room ahead of the show and the judges were forced to grab a quick photo with her in the corridor, reports The Sun.
An X Factor insider told the paper: "You have never seen so many heavies. Even around the judges' dressing rooms were sealed off by Britney's security people. When the judges went to meet her, her security wouldn't let anyone past."
Britney also shocked the show's judges by not watching the contestants' performances. Previous guests including Take That and even famous diva Mariah Carey spent time mentoring the acts but Britney didn't even watch the show backstage.
When Dermot asked her what she thought of this year's final five she said: "Yes, awesome, thank you. I met so many people, the place is beautiful."
Britney has also been criticised by viewers after miming throughout the performance of her latest single - the judges gave her a standing ovation even though other acts who have appeared on the series have sung live.
What did you think of Britney's performance? How do you think she would fare as a contestant in The X Factor? Let us know what you think...

What is there about any of these top stars that justify the money they receive? Frankly I think the money they command is obscene. I presume Britney mimed on Saturday night because she's not capable of singing live and thought the performances of the X Factor contestents would show her up!

Posted by: jenniinukcold on Mon Dec 01 12:39PM | Report abuseI think considering what her life has been in the past, insecurity may have been brought up. In some way I don't blame her for what she did because everyone wants to be rich and everyone wants a bit of Britney Spears but I think she has enough problems of her own trying to make it to the top once more. The contestants to my opinion are not good enough except for Ruth to be in the limelight. The music what is coming out of X-Factor are just complete rubbish and not the kind of music that we used to listen to in the 80s and most singers are not writing good music. Which means that I don't think the X-factor is a good idea and should be scrapped and let the real producers find real talent by letting the groups or singers go to the record label tradionally. On Britneys point of view, give her a break. I don't think she wanted to come to the show in the first place.
