- Video: Watch Shazia's reaction
We couldn't believe it last night when Shazia became the second candidate to get fired. How did team leader Jenny manage to escape the boot?
This latest decision did make us wonder if Sir Alan is keeping in the candidates who would make a good apprentice or those who will make good TV over the coming weeks?
The latest task saw the teams set up rival laundrettes for the day. Pricing mix-ups and lost clothing meant that the sparks were flying in the cleaning establishments and at the end of the day the dirty linen was aired in the boardroom.
Raef was team leader in the victorious boys' team and managed to redeem himself after last week's task, which saw him almost face the axe. The split in the boys' camp is still very evident and noticeably Raef sent the more 'laddish' members of the team back to do all the hard work while himself, Kevin and Michael ('the toffs') rode around London in a taxi sipping lattes.
The losing girls' side, led by Jenny, had a disastrous week. Lindi and Jennifer decided to make up prices rather than doing any research and, as a result their pricing was either outrageously high (£5,000 to do a hotel's laundry) or ridiculously low (£15 to wash two loads of clothes from a fish restaurant).
However, both of them managed to avoid being taken into the boardroom to face Sir Alan - was it because they were favourites of team leader Jenny?
Lucinda certainly wasn't one of her favourites and it was hard not to feel sorry for her as bossy Jenny kept telling her to be quiet. Lucinda hasn't really shone so far in the series but her treatment this week did seem pretty harsh.
Sir Alan looked horrified when Jenny told Lucinda in the boardroom that she felt she had to breastfeed her during the task! It'll be very interesting to see how this pair get on over the coming weeks.
Shazia had been given the task of labelling the laundry given to the girls and therefore the blame lay with her when several items went missing. Yes, this was another disaster for her team but it did appear to be a genuine mistake on her part - and it was only one of a whole catalogue of errors. But Sir Alan didn't seem to see it that way and fired her.
We think that useless (and incredibly annoying) team leader Jenny should have been fired.

Posted by: michelleday17 on Sun Apr 06 08:22PM | Report abuseJenny was grim. Can't think of anyone one I'd like less as my project manager. I'd probably have hit her. HOW could Lucinda and Shazia have been so restrained ?! The infuriatingly unjust decision to fire Shazia must be a ploy to promote a reaction from the viewers...either that or Sir Alan has lost his marbles.

Posted by: susannahmitchell on Sun Apr 06 11:40PM | Report abuseA good teamleader should lead as well as support, she did neither and stabbed her in the back when cornered she would probably do well in local government!!
Posted by: josephinerose on Mon Apr 07 09:41AM | Report abuseOmg i was so annoyed with janny. How could sir alan have fired shazia when it was abviously jenny's fault. She was patronising and just used lucinda as a scape goat. No good team leader plans for an hour and then doesn't listen to any one elses views. By what sir alan and his friends said it should have definetly been jenny who went however he only kept her anmd lucinda for publicity purposes.
Posted by: silver248 on Mon Apr 07 10:47AM | Report abuseI do not think it was the right decision to fire Shazia. Jenny is not a team player she is a bully by anyone standards. I would also fire Raef he thinks he is better than everyone else so obnocious.
Posted by: marydolldot on Mon Apr 07 11:52AM | Report abuseJenny is a bully pure and simple(not so pure but definitely simple!) and as team leader her 'man' management leaves much to be desired and for failing to be a good leader on the losing team she should have been fired. Either Sir Alan Sugar is blind or he has no control over who gets sacked(I fear the latter). SIR ALAN SUGAR YOU'RE FIRED!!!
Posted by: zeus_1958_uk on Mon Apr 07 06:02PM | Report abuseI wont be watching any more of the apprentice. I hate Alan Sugar anyway he's just a t**t. Give me Sir Richard Branson anyday, good humoured, fair but still at the top of his profession. Long may he stay there.
