- Video: Watch Shazia's reaction
We couldn't believe it last night when Shazia became the second candidate to get fired. How did team leader Jenny manage to escape the boot?
This latest decision did make us wonder if Sir Alan is keeping in the candidates who would make a good apprentice or those who will make good TV over the coming weeks?
The latest task saw the teams set up rival laundrettes for the day. Pricing mix-ups and lost clothing meant that the sparks were flying in the cleaning establishments and at the end of the day the dirty linen was aired in the boardroom.
Raef was team leader in the victorious boys' team and managed to redeem himself after last week's task, which saw him almost face the axe. The split in the boys' camp is still very evident and noticeably Raef sent the more 'laddish' members of the team back to do all the hard work while himself, Kevin and Michael ('the toffs') rode around London in a taxi sipping lattes.
The losing girls' side, led by Jenny, had a disastrous week. Lindi and Jennifer decided to make up prices rather than doing any research and, as a result their pricing was either outrageously high (£5,000 to do a hotel's laundry) or ridiculously low (£15 to wash two loads of clothes from a fish restaurant).
However, both of them managed to avoid being taken into the boardroom to face Sir Alan - was it because they were favourites of team leader Jenny?
Lucinda certainly wasn't one of her favourites and it was hard not to feel sorry for her as bossy Jenny kept telling her to be quiet. Lucinda hasn't really shone so far in the series but her treatment this week did seem pretty harsh.
Sir Alan looked horrified when Jenny told Lucinda in the boardroom that she felt she had to breastfeed her during the task! It'll be very interesting to see how this pair get on over the coming weeks.
Shazia had been given the task of labelling the laundry given to the girls and therefore the blame lay with her when several items went missing. Yes, this was another disaster for her team but it did appear to be a genuine mistake on her part - and it was only one of a whole catalogue of errors. But Sir Alan didn't seem to see it that way and fired her.
We think that useless (and incredibly annoying) team leader Jenny should have been fired.

Posted by: yamoo541 on Thu Apr 03 12:33PM | Report abuseI am horrified that Sir Alan cannot see through Jenny. She is NOT a team leader, only barks out commands. If I acted like that, as a manager, then I would be fired! Jenny, as leader should have taken responsibility to make sure that once Shazia had left, that all items were correctly marked and kept in contact with the team at the laundy to ENSURE that they would be able to finish on time and not keep bombarding them with more laundry! She had no product knowledge of prices etc...phone a local company to get an idea; it's not rocket science!
Posted by: lynne.barber on Thu Apr 03 12:34PM | Report abusei hope the apprentice isnt going to turn out like the reality tv series phone in scenario. where it is obvious who should be the one to leave, yet it,s always somebody you least expect. for example gabby yorath in strictly come dancing. and this years x factor shambles. if this is the case i will be turning straight off

Posted by: smartsahar_07 on Thu Apr 03 12:34PM | Report abuseUltimately, even if the items had been returned to the correct owners, the @#$% would still not have won the task. They were fined £50 for losing the items, and the difference between the @#$%' and @#$%' profits was quite a bit more than that. Therefore Shazia can't be blamed for losing the task really can she?
Posted by: carolinedavieskhan on Thu Apr 03 12:34PM | Report abuseAs a woman in business, I cringe when I see the sort of behaviour displyed by the @#$% team last night, as it gives all professional women a bad name. I do also wonder though whether we are manipulated by the editting of the programme as I'm sure there's a lot more that goes on that we don't see, and things get twisted to suit the outcome. We also don't know what S'rAlan gets told by Nick & Margaret....

Posted by: gloriacharlene on Thu Apr 03 12:34PM | Report abuseA good leader will delegate responsibility, but should ultimately accept accountability. Jenny, you allowed Shazia, one of your stronger team members to go scurry after an iron....... who's to blame for the mix up? Of course, the team leader for not making the right decision at a crucial time. Jenny, your loaded full of yourself, prepare to be fired.
