Shazia Hung Out To Dry?

Shazia Wahab

We couldn't believe it last night when Shazia became the second candidate to get fired. How did team leader Jenny manage to escape the boot?

This latest decision did make us wonder if Sir Alan is keeping in the candidates who would make a good apprentice or those who will make good TV over the coming weeks?

The latest task saw the teams set up rival laundrettes for the day. Pricing mix-ups and lost clothing meant that the sparks were flying in the cleaning establishments and at the end of the day the dirty linen was aired in the boardroom.

Raef was team leader in the victorious boys' team and managed to redeem himself after last week's task, which saw him almost face the axe. The split in the boys' camp is still very evident and noticeably Raef sent the more 'laddish' members of the team back to do all the hard work while himself, Kevin and Michael ('the toffs') rode around London in a taxi sipping lattes.

The losing girls' side, led by Jenny, had a disastrous week. Lindi and Jennifer decided to make up prices rather than doing any research and, as a result their pricing was either outrageously high (£5,000 to do a hotel's laundry) or ridiculously low (£15 to wash two loads of clothes from a fish restaurant).

However, both of them managed to avoid being taken into the boardroom to face Sir Alan - was it because they were favourites of team leader Jenny?

Lucinda certainly wasn't one of her favourites and it was hard not to feel sorry for her as bossy Jenny kept telling her to be quiet. Lucinda hasn't really shone so far in the series but her treatment this week did seem pretty harsh.

Sir Alan looked horrified when Jenny told Lucinda in the boardroom that she felt she had to breastfeed her during the task! It'll be very interesting to see how this pair get on over the coming weeks.

Shazia had been given the task of labelling the laundry given to the girls and therefore the blame lay with her when several items went missing. Yes, this was another disaster for her team but it did appear to be a genuine mistake on her part - and it was only one of a whole catalogue of errors. But Sir Alan didn't seem to see it that way and fired her.

We think that useless (and incredibly annoying) team leader Jenny should have been fired.

I'm supprised and saddened that Sir Alan could make such a mistake. Jenny should have gone., but as Sir Alan is a Labour supported I guess it's not supprising. Typical behavior of our Labour Government, never take responsibility !!

Jenny is not worth the suit she stands up in, acting like some power crazed dictator is not the way to motivate staff. Next time she decides to let rip they should stop the car, kick her out and let her walk home.

It is all about keeping the TV types in. if that Jenny spoke to anyone at work like that she would be up front of a tribunal. It was all "I this and "I" that. Remember you hard faced bully there is no I in team and as a woman professional who has made it she should remember we don't need to act like men just be bettter than them.

I agree - Jenny should have been fired. That was a terrible decision by Sir Alan to fire Shazia and he has now lost any credibility in my eyes as a boss. Sir Alan - YOU are fired!

Jenny should have gone she failed as a team leader. I agree the decision was based on a@#$%ving TV entertainment ratings. The others probably had some valid points to make if only they had been allowed to speak.

i do agree - Jenny should have taken responsibilty for the poor performance of the girls . I think Alan Sugar looked unconvincing in his analysis and was probably told by the producer who to fire.
