- Video: Watch Shazia's reaction
We couldn't believe it last night when Shazia became the second candidate to get fired. How did team leader Jenny manage to escape the boot?
This latest decision did make us wonder if Sir Alan is keeping in the candidates who would make a good apprentice or those who will make good TV over the coming weeks?
The latest task saw the teams set up rival laundrettes for the day. Pricing mix-ups and lost clothing meant that the sparks were flying in the cleaning establishments and at the end of the day the dirty linen was aired in the boardroom.
Raef was team leader in the victorious boys' team and managed to redeem himself after last week's task, which saw him almost face the axe. The split in the boys' camp is still very evident and noticeably Raef sent the more 'laddish' members of the team back to do all the hard work while himself, Kevin and Michael ('the toffs') rode around London in a taxi sipping lattes.
The losing girls' side, led by Jenny, had a disastrous week. Lindi and Jennifer decided to make up prices rather than doing any research and, as a result their pricing was either outrageously high (£5,000 to do a hotel's laundry) or ridiculously low (£15 to wash two loads of clothes from a fish restaurant).
However, both of them managed to avoid being taken into the boardroom to face Sir Alan - was it because they were favourites of team leader Jenny?
Lucinda certainly wasn't one of her favourites and it was hard not to feel sorry for her as bossy Jenny kept telling her to be quiet. Lucinda hasn't really shone so far in the series but her treatment this week did seem pretty harsh.
Sir Alan looked horrified when Jenny told Lucinda in the boardroom that she felt she had to breastfeed her during the task! It'll be very interesting to see how this pair get on over the coming weeks.
Shazia had been given the task of labelling the laundry given to the girls and therefore the blame lay with her when several items went missing. Yes, this was another disaster for her team but it did appear to be a genuine mistake on her part - and it was only one of a whole catalogue of errors. But Sir Alan didn't seem to see it that way and fired her.
We think that useless (and incredibly annoying) team leader Jenny should have been fired.

I always admired Mr Sugar for 'doing his own thing' by firing who he thought was the least likely candidate to fit into his organisation - how wrong was I - last nights programme was an absolute sham - the only reason he kept stroppy & dippy in was to boost tv ratings (as if he doesn't have enough money as the opening titles are only too eager to brag about) - you've sold out Sugar - your programme is the same as all the other c**p on the box now - I missed the footie because of this farce!! Posted by: crockettkila on Thu Apr 03 06:13PM | Report abuseJenny was a bully and seized on Sir Alan's criticism of Shazia to detract from her own failings. Jenny should have gone last night.

Posted by: sophie.alexander2 on Thu Apr 03 06:46PM | Report abuseJenny was an intolerable bully, so full of herself and a very poor team leader. If she spent less time talking and more time doing she might have been worth the space she otherwise wasted. Totally useless in 'people skills, she failed to pull the team together which was her job.
Posted by: sherpet on Thu Apr 03 07:09PM | Report abuseThe Apprentice seems to have become a programme to boost Sir Alan Sugar's ego. The two tasks that have been set so far did not require a top level degree to undertake, just a large amount of common sense. Something of which both teams seemed to lack, possibly because most of them appear to have had a priveleged upbringing. Shazia was wrong in the way she carried out her part of the laundry task, however, I do not believe it constituted being "fired". The team leader should have been fired as she failed to hold the team together, formulate a good team spirit and seemed to be led by other members of the team to the detriment of the task. Lucinda should also have been "fired" alongside her because a business cannot perform at the highlest level with a person who throws her teddy out of the cot when things do not go her way.
Posted by: cairnmill on Thu Apr 03 07:17PM | Report abusedefinately jenny, Shazia was the only one that actually did anything right on that team for that task. Jenny had actually told Lucinda the following morning that they had a list of where everything was and where it all whent, if they all knew, then how could it have just been shazia's fault.
