- Video: Watch Shazia's reaction
We couldn't believe it last night when Shazia became the second candidate to get fired. How did team leader Jenny manage to escape the boot?
This latest decision did make us wonder if Sir Alan is keeping in the candidates who would make a good apprentice or those who will make good TV over the coming weeks?
The latest task saw the teams set up rival laundrettes for the day. Pricing mix-ups and lost clothing meant that the sparks were flying in the cleaning establishments and at the end of the day the dirty linen was aired in the boardroom.
Raef was team leader in the victorious boys' team and managed to redeem himself after last week's task, which saw him almost face the axe. The split in the boys' camp is still very evident and noticeably Raef sent the more 'laddish' members of the team back to do all the hard work while himself, Kevin and Michael ('the toffs') rode around London in a taxi sipping lattes.
The losing girls' side, led by Jenny, had a disastrous week. Lindi and Jennifer decided to make up prices rather than doing any research and, as a result their pricing was either outrageously high (£5,000 to do a hotel's laundry) or ridiculously low (£15 to wash two loads of clothes from a fish restaurant).
However, both of them managed to avoid being taken into the boardroom to face Sir Alan - was it because they were favourites of team leader Jenny?
Lucinda certainly wasn't one of her favourites and it was hard not to feel sorry for her as bossy Jenny kept telling her to be quiet. Lucinda hasn't really shone so far in the series but her treatment this week did seem pretty harsh.
Sir Alan looked horrified when Jenny told Lucinda in the boardroom that she felt she had to breastfeed her during the task! It'll be very interesting to see how this pair get on over the coming weeks.
Shazia had been given the task of labelling the laundry given to the girls and therefore the blame lay with her when several items went missing. Yes, this was another disaster for her team but it did appear to be a genuine mistake on her part - and it was only one of a whole catalogue of errors. But Sir Alan didn't seem to see it that way and fired her.
We think that useless (and incredibly annoying) team leader Jenny should have been fired.

Jenny is a nasty, vindictive bully. I would not have her in my house, and I would hate to work with her. She needs to learn to respect other people. Her behaviour towards Lucinda was appalling. It amazes me that she has got on well at work. It's no use being successful if you treat people as badly as this.

Posted by: nrobertsfrca on Thu Apr 03 12:32PM | Report abusei am still speachless at Shazias departure last night she did not deserve to go. I think the other two were kept in to spice up the show with their arguing which is a shame if this is the case as it makes the show a bit of a farce.
Posted by: jennymilne on Thu Apr 03 12:32PM | Report abuseJenny should have gone - she was definitely the worst. Poor Shazia did not deserve that treatment. Jenny really turned on Shazia viciously.
Posted by: office_stjohntb on Thu Apr 03 12:32PM | Report abuseif Sir Alan wants to encourage bullying in the work place then he should just hire Jenny she is a total witch. It made for uncomfortable viewing.
Posted by: emmalouiselaird on Thu Apr 03 12:32PM | Report abuseSeriously what do you expect? OF COURSE Sir Alan is operating to raise the entertainment value of the show! The publicity it brings him and his organisation MORE than offsets whatever he'll spend on wages for the eventual winner! Each and every candidate is (in business terms) an absolute nightmare! As both a businessman and TV producer myself I KNOW that the reality of this exercise would make VERY dull viewing. It's a freak show! Enjoy!
Posted by: tfgtv on Thu Apr 03 12:33PM | Report abuseAwful. The programme's a joke in terms of business. Nobody in their right mind would have the ginger one working for them. She's just in because as a highly obnoxious individual, she'll be "good telly".

Posted by: jimbob.stuart on Thu Apr 03 12:33PM | Report abuseI couldn't believe it when Shazia was fired. Jenny was an appalling manager, both in terms of the way she managed the task and the way in which she (mis)led the team. She clearly approved Shazia going back to get the irons, then blamed her for the problems which occurred as a result; any manager who would do that is not worth the title, as it was her job to maintain an overview of the big picture and check any adjustments of activity / roles. Sorry to say but Sir Alan really seemed to have lost the plot last night.
Posted by: susanmajor on Thu Apr 03 12:33PM | Report abuseJenny was an awful leader. Shazia was an excellent worker. They've certainly lost out, no one, but no one even bothered to stick up for Shazia who unfortunately had no ability when it came to fighting her own corner. Poor thing, she looked proper horrified when Jenny bullied her and Sir Allan cornered her with that awful question 'Why should you be my apprentice?' Well, it's as they say 'Sometimes life's just not fair.'
